We believe in the immense power of prayer and the gift it is as we seek God together - we want to be a prayerful people who make it a priority in our busy world. Prayer & Worship Nights
The most regular rhythm of prayer at Grace Church is our monthly Prayer & Worship Nights. These nights are special as we gather with one very simple aim: to seek God. We enjoy longer times of worship and ministry, intercede for our church, our city and situations in the life of the church, and as we encounter God together always find Him shaping us and leading us as a church. The biggest rock in our prayer life as a church is our annual month of prayer. At the outset of every new year we set aside January to pray and seek God as a church. We know how easy it can be to come into the year and quickly get sucked into unrealistic expectations and pressure from the world around us, so we prioritise a yearly rhythm of prayer, spending time both together and in our homes praying and trusting God with everything the year holds.
During January we stop most of our regular church activities to prioritise prayer. The month includes weekly prayer and worship nights at our church building, other smaller prayer meetings as well as a range of guided prayer opportunities in the booklet. Prayer & Fasting
As well as our big Month of Prayer in January, twice a year we set aside three days to pray and fast together as a church. These days of Prayer & Fasting always play a huge part in shaping the life and direction of the church; we see God break through in circumstances in our church and city, and we find God forms us more and more into the likeness of Christ as we pray. There are a couple of smaller, more focussed prayer contexts that meet regularly across the church too.
Prayer for the Nations. The worldwide church is one big family which is why we gather once a month to pray for Christians - our brothers and sisters - around the world. At these gatherings we make it a priority to particularly pray for the persecuted church. This prayer meeting happens online. Upcoming EventsWomen’s Prayer Pods. If you’re a woman and would like to pray with and be encouraged by a handful of others, prayer pods are a great way to support one another and learn to pray with other women in the church. If you’re interested in becoming part of a prayer pod, please email the office.
